“Play matters for all kids.” It’s the first thing you read on the KaBoom! website, but it’s more than just a clever tagline. It’s a way of life, and we’re here for it.
Well, those of us that have kids 16 and over anyway, as 15 and under are not allowed to assist in the build. That’s unfortunate for some families looking to do social good together, obviously, but hey, 16-year-olds are kids, too, and what could be better than bonding with your older kids by working together to build better childhoods?
So what is KaBoom!? According to their website, KaBoom! . . .
“. . . is a national non-profit dedicated to giving all kids, especially those living in poverty, great, safe places to play. We bring people together from diverse backgrounds—from cities and city leaders to corporations and non-profits—to create places to play for all kids. The communities we serve feel more engaged, connected and united by the common cause of ensuring our kids can thrive—every day; everywhere.”
Basically, if you have an organization or group of some kind that would like to give back to the community, working with your heart and your hands to build a playground with KaBoom! is a pretty wonderful way to do it. Help put the future into play!
