It’s hard to believe Giving Tuesday was only founded two years ago, when the United Nations Foundation and New York’s 92nd Street Y launched a movement that has involved more than 10,000 organizations worldwide.
The idea behind Giving Tuesday is brilliant and simple: to celebrate generosity and to give.
The fathers from City Dads Group will get in on the act with a broad campaign of kindness. Here’s their plan for celebrating—and demonstrating—generosity:
NYC Dads Group will spend an evening sorting, screening and bundling children’s clothing donated through Baby Buggy, a nonprofit group that assists the 500,000 New York City families living in poverty, on December 2 at City Births in Manhattan.
Chicago Dads Group will be packing meals that will be shipped all over the world to feed starving and malnourished children served by Feed My Starving Children.
Philly Dads Group will be shopping for Outfit Packs, a week’s worth of clothing provided to children served by Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit organization providing children ages 0 to 12 some of the most important basics of life.
You can join them on Twitter and Instagram using hashtags #CityDads and #GivingTuesday to see pictures of dads across the country supporting families in need.
